Trent Alexander-Arnold registered the 50th Premier League assist of his career during Liverpool’s 6-1 victory over Leeds on Monday night.
The England right back, known as one of the most creative players in world football, has endured a difficult season alongside most of his Reds teammates but was on top form for the trip to Elland Road.
Alexander-Arnold teed up Cody Gakpo for his first assist of the night and brought up his half century in second half injury time, sending a lob over the top for substitute Darwin Nunez to convert.
Those were the first and last goals of the night, with Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah netting braces alongside Luis Sinisterra’s consolation for Leeds.
Alexander-Arnold had managed just two league assists before his last two games, now sitting on five after crossing for Roberto Firmino to equalise in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal before Monday night’s double.

When asked if Alexander-Arnold is a midfielder or a full back, manager Jurgen Klopp responded: “Because it’s Trent it’s both. I think the goal for Darwin is an exceptional pass. He can be both but in general you are right we need to be better protected as well because we concede too many counter-attacks.
“Trent played a really good game but when we lost the ball the reaction was a lot different. All players we must be able to protect and for that the formations suits us much better.”
Alexander-Arnold has become renowned for his passing and crossing ability, setting up the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino frequently down the years.
His best haul for a season remains 2019, when he picked up 13 assists for Liverpool in 38 Premier League games as the Reds won the title. He had managed 12 the season before.
