Booking a Champions League quarter-final ticket last week after edging their way past Porto, Arsenal are in the midst of what has been a real fairytale this season.

Entering March’s international break leading the chase at the top of the Premier League table, Mikel Arteta’s young squad have their sights set on claiming a first domestic crown since 2004.

However, although England international Bukayo Saka might have continued to spearhead Arsenal’s title charge this season, it has been reported that the Gunners have a new number nine at the top of their summer wishlist.

Ahead of what looks like it could be a frantic summer at the Emirates, we have taken a look at three European striking superstars who have been linked with a move to north London.

Ivan Toney – Brentford

While Ivan Toney might have only returned from a nine-month ban back in January, it is no secret that the one-time Newcastle starlet is attracting plenty of heavyweight Premier League interest ahead of the summer transfer window.

Handed another England call-up by Gareth Southgate for this month’s friendlies against Brazil and Belgium, Toney also appears to be sat in the driving seat to feature at EURO 24.

However, while the Brentford hierarchy might have made it clear that they want their attacking talisman to sign a bumper new deal in west London, it seems almost certain that the 27-year-old will be heading for the west London exit.

Publicly stating that he wants to secure a Champions League move this summer, the Bees appear to have accepted that they will be forced to cash in on the one-cap international.

Notching four Premier League goals since returning from his long-term suspension earlier in the year, it has also been heavily suggested that Toney himself has his heart set on completing a blockbuster move to the Emirates this summer.

Victor Osimhen – Napoli

Although Napoli might have made real Serie A history last season as they secured a first domestic crown since 1990, the Azzurri have largely come crashing back down to earth this time around.

Crashing out of the Champions League last week following a 4-2 aggregate defeat against Barcelona, the reigning Italian champions have a major battle on their hands to clinch any kind of European finish this year.

While Victor Osimhen might have cemented his spot as an icon in Naples thanks to his goal-scoring exploits last season, it appears that the Nigerian marksmen looks set for a move away from the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

Despite putting pen to paper on a new deal last year, Osimhen has publicly spoken about the possibility of him leaving the defending Serie A champions this summer.

Continuing to shine this season and notching 11 goals in his 17 top-flight appearances and heavily linked with a big-money move to Chelsea, there are reports that Arsenal are also monitoring Osimhen’s situation closely.

Viktor Gyokeres – Sporting Lisbon

While Viktor Gyokeres might have only arrived at Sporting Lisbon last summer following £18.5million move from Championship outfit Coventry, the Swedish international has quickly blossomed into one of Europe’s hottest striking stars.

Only continuing to receive a string of plaudits from across Portugal’s elite this season, the 25-year-old has recorded 36 goals and a further 14 assists across all competitions.

However, while Sporting might have made it clear that they have no intention of cashing in on Gyokeres this summer, the one-time Brighton youngster is attracting plenty of interest.

With it believed that the Lions value their attacking ace in the region of £100million, there has been plenty of speculation that Ruben Amorim’s men are weighing up potential summer replacements for the 19-cap international.

With Sporting watching their Europa League adventure come to an end at the hands of Italian outfit Atalanta last week, there are suggestions that Arteta has identified Gyokeres as his number-one striking target.
