Pakistan leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed, has been ruled out of the first Test against Australia due to ankle injury.

According to sources, his participation in the second Test is also doubtful.

The decision has been made to send left-arm spinner Sajid Khan to Australia in place of Abrar. The selection committee has unanimously agreed upon Sajid in consultation with the team management.

Once the travel documents are complete, Sajid will depart on the first available flight. Sajid is being preferred due to having abundant left batters in Australian team and effective left-arm spin bowling. He has taken 22 wickets in seven Tests so far.

Sajid played his last Test match against Australia in March last year. The first Test between Pakistan and Australia will be played in Perth from December 14th.”
