After Jordan Ayew picked up a second booking in the 75th minute, Mohamed Salah’s deflected effort found the back of the Palace net straight away, and substitute Harvey Elliott produced a fine winner from outside the box for the visitors on Saturday at Selhurst Park just as the 90 minutes expired.
Speaking to the press afterwards, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was aware that his team did not play well for a large part of the game, but he highlighted the importance of winning such contests in a title race.
