Competition: La Liga
Market: Over 1.5 goals
Odds: 4/7 @ Pribet
Hoping to spring another upset on their travels this weekend, Rayo Vallecano will travel to the Estadio Coliseum when they meet local rivals Getafe on Saturday night.
Starting with the hosts, getting proceedings underway with a rugged performance last weekend as they snatched a 1-1 stalemate away at top-four hopefuls Athletic Bilbao, Getafe will be looking to use that display as a platform to build on. However, eventually limping their way over the finishing line last season, the Blues know that stability is key this time around. Signing off the 2023/24 campaign with a 2-1 defeat at home against Mallorca, Jose Bordalas’ camp lost all of their final five La Liga appearances prior to the summer break with a 9-1. Likewise, the Madrid-based outfit could also muster just a single top-flight victory from any of their final nine outings after returning from March’s international break. Facing a tough challenge in the race to book a top-half return this season, Getafe will be desperately seeking a much-welcomed boost at the Estadio Coliseum. Including a 3-0 drumming a the hands of local rivals Atletico Madrid on May 15th, Saturday’s hosts failed to win any of their final five La Liga appearances in the Spanish capital.
As for the visitors, only just about keeping hold of their La Liga status last season after what was a nail-biting relegation scrap, Rayo Vallecano are desperate for a smoother ride this time around. However, although the Little Thunderbolts might have recorded just a single win from any of their final six top-flight appearances prior to the summer break, they certainly sprung an almighty upset when opening the 2024/25 campaign last weekend. Putting in what was a sensational performance as they secured a 2-1 victory away at Real Sociedad, Inigo Perez will be demanding a repeat display on Saturday night. Despite being pencilled in as a real underdog contender here, Vallecano will be excited by their most recent trip to the Estadio Coliseum. In fact, when Los Franjirrojos last travelled across the capital back on January 2nd, they collected a 2-0 win. With Madrid bragging rights up for grabs this weekend, a result of over 1.5 goals can be found at appealing odds.
Bet: Over 1.5 goals at Getafe vs Rayo Vallecano 4/7 for Saturday’s La Liga battle @ Pribet
